Probably the best video ever made about archery is "Archery, its History and Forms" by Mike Loades. He wrote and directed it a few years back, and we have been asked many times if we have it on DVD, well, now we have. He is the man who made so many interesting BBC programmes about medieval weapons and battle, and this is to the same high standard. This DVD takes a look at archery right from the days when arrows had heads made from flint, through longbows, flat bows, steel bows, composites and compounds. It covers all the different types of archery: roving, clout, flight, popinjay, field, and target. It even covers crossbows! There is a lot of medieval archery, quite a bit about how bows are made, and it also shows in slow motion how wooden arrows with bodkin heads penetrated chain mail and armour. It is 72 minutes long, and there is so much information in this DVD that you can watch it over and over again. The price is £17.50, plus £1.50 P & P within the UK. Out of the UK please email us to find out the cost of sending it to you. This DVD is in Region 2 format. There are about seventy countries in Region 2, including the UK, so please make sure that you are in one of them. |
