ARROW SHAFTS
PORT ORFORD CEDAR SHAFTS
Stocked in 5/16" from 25 to 45lb., and in 11/32" from 40 to 70lb., all in five pound increments. Because they are graded in the U.S.A. for composite bows, it is best to knock off about 10lb in weight if you are shooting a wooden bow. £16.75 per dozen.

CHRIS BOYTON SHAFTS
These Scots Pine shafts are made to a very high standard, and we are selling more and more of these as archers realise what good quality they are. They are made up to 45/50 lb. in 5/16" and up to 70 lb. in 11/32", in 5 lb increments. £16.75 per dozen. Please check first for availability.

CHEAPER WOODEN SHAFTS

We stock these for those archers who don't need top-quality arrows, and would be happy to make cheaper but serviceable ones. These shafts are for beginners, people who want to have fun rough-shooting where they sometimes lose them, or for battles, where arrows can get trodden on. These shafts are NOT weight matched , and they are not up to the quality of POC or Boyton, but we sell a lot of them.

RAMIN SHAFTS
These are a light hardwood 8mm x 900mm (about 5/16" x 35"). They are suitable for beginners' arrows for light-weight bows, or for children. (I know, I know, you are not supposed to shoot children). They take 5/16" nocks and points. £6.50 per doz.

HARDWOOD SHAFTS
9mm x 900mm (about 11/32" x 31.5"). Suitable for taller people or for stronger bows, and ideal for battles because of their strength. If you are ordering a large quantity please try to order well in advance £7.50 per doz.

BIRCH SHAFTS
10mm x 900mm (about 3/8" x 35"). Same quality as above, but suitable for big blokes with heavyweight longbows. £8.50 per doz.

SHAFT TAPERING TOOLS
Taper tool
These are like large pencil sharpeners, and they cut the two different angles for nocks and tapered points. We stock them for three different diameters of wooden shafting, 5/16", 11/32" and 23/64" at £3.95 each. You can just about get our 9mm shafts in the 23/64" tool, but you may have to sandpaper the shaft down a bit first. We do not have any taper tool that will take a 10mm shaft, you have to whittle them down yourself.
ADHESIVES

We have tried many glues, but we find that the best glue for sticking feather fletchings and plastic nocks to wood is HMG, which we stock at £1.95 per tube.

It is no good for glueing metal points onto wood, for which we recommend Araldite. You can buy this in a syringe dispenser, which saves you from getting it all over your fingers, and it gives you the correct amounts of glue and hardener. We don't stock this, never got around to it, but all DIY shops sell it.

ST. GEORGES CROSS TRANSFERS
These are transfers (called decals in some countries) with a red cross on a white background. They are 1" x 1 ¾" and are meant for cresting arrows because the red line tells you which is the cock feather, but some people wrap them round ballpens, decorate their belongings, etc. 12 for £2.10
