We stock these for those archers who don't need top-quality arrows, and would be happy to make cheaper but serviceable ones. These shafts are for beginners, people who want to have fun rough-shooting where they sometimes lose them, or for battles, where arrows can get trodden on. These shafts are NOT weight matched , and they are not up to the quality of POC or Boyton, but we sell a lot of them.
| RAMIN SHAFTS | These are a light hardwood 8mm x 900mm (slightly thinner than 5/16"). They are suitable for beginners' arrows for light-weight bows, or for children. These are remarkably straight and strong for the price. They take 5/16" nocks and points. £6.90 per doz. |
| HARDWOOD SHAFTS | 9mm x 900mm (slightly fatter than 11/32"). If you are fitting 11/32" plastic nocks to 9mm you will need a 23/64" taper tool. Suitable for taller people or for stronger bows, and ideal for battles because of their strength. If you are ordering a large quantity please try to order well in advance £7.50 per doz. |
| BIRCH SHAFTS | 10mm x 900mm (about 3/8" x 35"). Same quality as above, but suitable for big blokes with heavyweight longbows. £8.50 per doz. |
| HARDWOOD SHAFTS | 12mm x 900mm. We have had quite a few requests for shafts in the same diameter as were used in medieval battles, for making replica arrows. We have finally tracked some down which are a teensy-weensy bit under ½" in diameter, at £10.80 per dozen |
